1. Allow people to pick the fruit or veg you cannot eat Do you find you have more fruit in your garden than you can eat? Do you have fruit you cannot yourself pick, until it is on the ground, rotten and just in the way? Is fruit from your garden overhanging a public footpath and you really wouldn’t mind if people helped themselves? If the answer is yes, please put yourself on our food map.
To get on the food map, please contact us by email or via our website or on Facebook. Tell us what you have, where and roughly when. We will ask you to confirm these details, including the map location before we make them public. We will check that you are happy with the permissions to pick or collect you fruit. If you want to be removed from the map, you will simply need to contact the Fruitful team once more. 2. Pick/collect some fruit or veg featured in our map On our map, you can find fruit and vegetables that are either freely available because they are on public land or that the owners are willing for you to take. Please take note of the details on the map. Some growers are willing for you to go and pick yourself, others will put out what they are happy to give away. Please also refer to our etiquette guide.
3. Events We plan to run a number of community events. These will include gatherings to collect fruit, redistribute it, harvest and maintain our own trees. We hope to have an apple-juicing session too, to which you can bring your own fruit and borrow equipment or manpower. Please check our website, Facebook page or sign-up for our newsletter.
